My "garden". On the bottom left is cilantro, strawberries, oregano, thyme, mint, peppers and basil. So far nothing has died, which is good...but I'll keep you updated about that. The basil is actually flourishing, so I think I'll have to concoct a pistachio or cashew pesto sometime soon. The flowers all came off the tomato plant, so I'm a little worried that it's not getting enough sun, but one of the tomatoes is getting ripe which is totally getting me excited. The strawberries are unbelievably good...I don't even want to buy them in a store anymore. The plant doesn't produce a ton of them, but it's decorative and an excellent treat now and then. Apparently it will continue producing through the winter too. Anyway, not particularly interesting, but I'm excited. :)

It looks awesome! Our plants are doing great ... although I'm not sure who is going to water them while we are gone for the rest of this week. Hopefully they don't croak!
I'm not a cilantro fan, but Jacob loves it, and has ate it on just about everything for the past week. It's the plant that keeps on giving I guess!
Totally jealous of your strawberries ... that was on my list of must have plants, but I guess when I sent the husband to get the seeds and plants he 'forgot' the only one I really wanted :)
I didn't know you could grow strawberries like that..... I always remember planting them outside and waiting two years before getting any berries.
Your apartment looks pretty swanky, Rock. I like. :)
drooling.
The strawberries have actually been really successful. They're a really good indoor plant because they don't need very much direct sun to produce fruit, unlike tomatoes, and it'll continue through the winter. It's actually also self-pollinating, like tomatoes, so I use a vibrator to pollinate it. :) There are actually SO MANY berries growing right now and they are DELICIOUS.
